My name is Sophie Middleton.

And I’m the MID of MIDSMITH.

Do you need help with your marketing, but you’re unsure of how to ask for help or you’re not sure of what you need exactly and how much it all costs?

You’ve come to the right place!

With a background in Marketing and Teaching, I love helping businesses achieve their goals through educational and supportive marketing solutions.

I have 10 years of experience supporting restaurants and hotels, born from a professional food blog, and have more recently helped transform restaurant brands from start to finish.

I can work with brands on a retainer providing ongoing marketing support, on a contractual, project basis for a renovation for example, or to be outsourced on an ad-hoc basis to provide strategy and campaign plans.

Creative Portfolio:

Awards & Recognitions

  • Royal Borough of Greenwich Business Awards - for the Summer Family Getaway Campaign 2022

  • Won - Portfolio for the Summer Programme 2018 - Marriott EMEA

  • Restaurant Marketing & Innovator Awards 2017

With a career in Journalism, Marketing and PR that started from a professional restaurant and hotel blog in 2015, I have worked in both London and Dubai supporting hospitality brands with their Marketing for 10 years.

I have worked my way up the career ladder from a Digital Marketing Manager and Social Media Marketing Manager, to a Cluster Marketing Manager, Head of Marketing and Director of Marketing & PR.

I am incredibly passionate about Marketing and have needed to be hands-on in all aspects of advertising, digital, communications and PR, with an industry specialism in restaurants and hotels.

During the height of my food blog, The Fabulous Foodie, as an original influencer, I would:

  • Receive 20+ restaurant or food event invitations to feature per week

  • Be sent 10+ items to review and feature on my blog

  • Attend 3 press visits away per month to feature as a journalist

  • Publish a minimum of 5 articles including professional photography per week

  • Pitch to secure paid editorial coverage of PR events or product launches (which we now call paid influencer campaigns)

Get to know Sophie.

My name is Sophie Middleton, and I’m a Marketing Consultant with 10 years of experience working in Marketing, Digital, PR, Design and Communications for Hotels and Restaurants in London and Dubai. I grew up in Dubai and went to University at King’s College London for 4 years.

  • I was born in South West London but lived in Dubai from the age of 5 to 18 years old. My mother is from Malta and my Father is half Scottish, half English.

  • I currently live in South East London but have worked for clients all over the world thanks to modern technology.

  • I believe I'm down-to-earth, inquisitive, empathetic, passionate and very creative.

  • I am very self-motivated, and like to work efficiently and quickly. I am strict about deadlines and clear, respectful communication is essential to the way I work.

  • I work as and when I need to and allocate my time around when my brain is best for different things. I do all of my hardest work in the morning when my brain is most active, and then more creative tasks in the afternoon.

  • Marketing combines everything I love: business, psychology, data and creativity. I've always felt a connection to advertising and psychology, and as a highly creative person, I think it makes sense that I've grown into this discipline.

  • I really enjoy how broad Marketing is, as you can learn more and more as you push yourself. I am best at brand and business strategy, particularly in the hospitality industry which is my background. I am very confident with new concepts, social media (both organic and paid) and love website design.

  • I have worked for myself twice before and loved it. My health has suffered significantly within the constraints of working for an employer as I am both introverted and extroverted and need quiet time to focus and produce work. There has been an enormous amount of positive from my full-time employment but it's time to shift into a different gear and see where it takes me. I also love seeing positive growth and change over time and the transformation process!

  • As an entrpreneur myself, I understand budgets can be tight. However, if money is a challenge, baby steps can go a long way.

  • Yes! If you want to learn Marketing, please get in contact.
